Cultivating Good Habits
October 16th, 2007 | by Jeniffer |Over at Pick The Brain, they have a great post today called “13 Strategies for Breaking Bad Habits and Cultivating Good Ones”. One of these strategies is leverage. To quote:“Get Leverage - Give a buddy a hundred bucks with the condition to return it to you only when you’ve completed thirty days without fail. Make a public commitment to everyone you know that you’re going to stick with it. Offer yourself a reward if you make it a month. Anything to give yourself that extra push.”
I’m going to put that particular tip to the test. For the next 30 days, I will do thirty minutes of exercise six days of the week (walking, biking, whatever, but thirty minutes for six days of each week), or I will give my brother $100.00 to do with as he pleases. If I stick with this for thirty days, the $100.00 goes to me, to do with as I please.
