5 Top Tips From 2007

1) Everyone should keep a gratitude journal.

It helps you to focus on the positive things in your life, no matter what else is going on.

2) If you think you can do something, and it keeps gnawing away at the back of your mind to begin, do so.

I was thinking of starting a blog back in the summertime, but with family camping trips and life in general, I kept telling myself I couldn’t do it.

I finally listened to that nagging little voice that wanted me to do it, and began this blog in the last week of September 2007.

I have enjoyed doing this ever since.

That little voice that tells you that  something you’re not sure you can do, can make your life better, knows what it is talking about!

Whether it is starting a blog, reading a book you keep finding yourself reaching for in bookstores or online, or starting that great new job, give it a try.

You may amaze yourself!

3) To get more done, turn off the television.

Time spent mindlessly surfing through channels looking for something to watch is better spent doing other things.

Try exercising, cleaning up, putting things away, or begin writing that Great Canadian Novel you’ve always dreamed of writing!

4) Your body (and therefore your health) very much reflects what you feed it.

When I cut out my mid morning junk-food snack, replacing it with a piece of fruit, I cut back on fat, calories, and sugar, all in one easy step.

I feel better, have more energy, even sleep better and am therefore more focused, in large part due to this one little change.

5) Exercising three times per week, for thirty minutes at a time, does more than just burn extra calories.

It lifts your mood, gives you more energy, and gives you the feeling of having accomplished something, all in thirty minutes.
