Law of Attraction, or Law of Action?

April 21st, 2008 | by Jeniffer |

The Law of Attraction states that whatever it is that you think about, you attract into your life.

Your entire life, then, is the result of your thoughts.

If you think of things you do not want in your life, just by repeatedly concentrating on them, you will attract them to you.

Conversely, if you think of what you DO want, concentrating on it shall bring it into your life.

Ordinarily, I am not one to pay much attention to this. I have a truly great life, which I enjoy immensely, and tend to naturally focus on the pleasures and positive challenges inherant in it.

I focus on my goals, which I create by thinking of what I would like to achieve in a set number of years’ time (I have five year goals and ten year goals, which are long-term things from which come my smaller goals.)

Thinking of my goals gives me pleasure. I enjoy visualizing what it will be like when books are written, when our cottage near the water is complete, etc. It’s just been what I do for so long, it has been completely natural.

Along comes The Secret, a DVD which I rented sometime last month (OK, so I’m slow at these things!). Low and behold, much of what they discuss on that DVD are the very things which I have been doing all along!

And now, I have borrowed my latest Audio-book from my library, “The Millionaire Course Seminar, by Marc Allen”, and you will never guess what it is about.

It is all about The Law of Attraction.

In this audio-book, Marc Allen describes how he used the Law of Attraction in starting up his business, how it presented him with opportunities to learn about different kinds of business setups, how to get financing, how to create a business plan. And he talks of how The Law of Attraction was responsible for that same business plan eventually landing into the hands of someone who was willing to provide financing to help him start-up a company.

Meanwhile, he had made several copies of the plan, and passed them around to everyone he could think of who might know someone who could help him with this.

Now, it seems to  me, that there is a lot of actions which took place, solid things which he did which any of us would do, if we were to start up a business.

And it is only natural that you focus on what it is you want, when you are working to begin the process of getting it.

Much of the information gathering and learning how to operate a business, as well as business structure, and yes, creating a business plan, are things which I did way back in the day when  I was starting up my company. (Note: I no longer have that company. I have moved on to other things.)

Actions, taken time and again.

As well, once more I was naturally focusing on what I wanted–on what I wanted the company to be, where I dreamt it would go, etc.

Now, I ask you–if you are planning a change in your life, and you envision the end result, concentrating on it and looking for opportunities to make it a reality–are you unknowingly using the Law of Attraction?

They do stress that, whether or not you happen to believe in this Law, it is working for you.

This is my earliest introduction to this subject, being the first I have learned anything of it, and even that is very small. But it has made me curious.

Now, I ask you: Do you believe this Law has affected your life, or do you believe that your success, your life’s happiness, is strictly Fate, the result of hard work and years of study, a combination of all of the above, or is due to some other factor/factors?

What do you think?
